Trainingtraining

At Staffordshire Women's Aid we have almost 40 years of expertise and knowledge of working with domestic and sexual violence. We believe that training researching and raising awareness of the issues and experiences we work with is central to our aims to achieve positive outcomes for victims.

We Deliver a comprehensive range of training on domestic and sexual violence and related issues. All of our training team members are PTTLS (Preparing to Teach in the Life long sector) qualified, in addition to being able to draw upon their own professional and academic qualifications but most importantly their skills and knowledge gained through their experience of supporting victims.

Our Training centers on personal and professional development. It involves learning about ourselves and the world we live in, reviewing our assumptions and beliefs.  It has a strong multi-agency partnership ethos, aiming towards building a better organised community response to domestic and sexual violence.

With the introduction of Domestic Homicide Reviews and the current range of statutory initiatives around domestic and sexual violence at local and national levels, agencies need to be even more aware of Domestic and Sexual Violence in order to be able to identify risk and signpost victims appropriately.

Staffordshire Women's Aid are commissioned by both Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire Safeguarding boards to deliver training on Domestic Violence and Children and Domestic Violence and the MARAC process.
