Reaching Out to Support Our Move
We are currently undergoing a period of change in order to cater for the ever expanding needs of the women and children we support. Part of this involves the staff and volunteer team re-locating to larger premises. The demand for Outreach support has grown to such an extent that we are no longer able to cope with it in our tiny resource centre. Last year we supported over 220 women and 150 children through outreach in the Stafford Borough area. We have now identified an ideal building where women and children will be able to come to us for support.
The new building requires a certain amount of refurbishment and equipment so that we can run our service there. We are appealing to the Stafford Borough community to help us do this. With 2 women killed each week in the UK by domestic violence, and so many children living with its traumas and risks, this new centre will be a vital resource for vulnerable, at risk families. As one woman recently using our service has said “It is not exaggeration to say that you saved our lives”.
The building is to be the headquarters for all operational work within the organisation.
It will also be used for most service delivery including one to one sessions, group
sessions covering confidence building/self esteem raising, children’s workshops, and
most importantly, it will be home for our 24 hour Help Line, the first point of contact
for all referrals.
As a charity, we have always been really well supported by our local community. We appeal to any businesses, organisations and individuals who feel they would like to support this important development in our work in any way possible.
