Children & Young People Services

We believe that if children are empowered through accurate advice, fun and inclusion, they may be less likely to be abusive or accept abusive relationships.

Our Children and Young People Service is available to any child between the ages of 5 - 18 who is living with, fleeing or recovering from the effects of domestic or sexual violence.

The Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health of Children and Young People is important to us all. The Emotional Wellbeing Framework was developed in response to the growing recognition that intervening early can greatly reduce the risk of a child/young person developing more serious and complex mental health problems

Staffordshire Women’s Aid is a registered provider on the Emotional Wellbeing Framework.  Under the Framework we offer a flexible programme of professional support for Children and Young People who have experienced or been affected by the following:

Parental Domestic Abuse – current or historical

Domestic Abuse - within their own relationships

Sexual Abuse and Rape

Sexual Exploitation

The support services we offer are based on a whole family approach and provide a safe space for children and young people to voice their feelings, fears and anxieties.
